Repair Baumuller BUM618-12/18 servo drive



       Baumuller BUM618 Family are single-axis digital controllers for servo motors with power between 0.5 and 1.5 kW.  The  key features of the family implemented from the design phase were ergonomics, compact size and simple operation. Together with the benefits of digital controllers design, the units of the family have the following characteristics:

  • Smoothness and speed accuracy;
  • High quality control capability;
  • Easy to integrate into existing systems due to communication facilities.

      The operational features of the family are:

  • Compact self contained housing;
  • Protection against short-circuit, overvoltage and short to earth;
  • Starting current peaks are prevented by the charging circuit;
  • 4-quadrant operation with internal or external ballast;
  • Integrated power supply for the controller.

      Some of the basics functions offered by the units in the BA618 Family are:

  • Synchronous Motor control;
  • Digital control via 16 bit microprocessor;
  • Incremental encoder input or emulation;
  • Drive monitoring and diagnostics;
  • Positioning software.

      Baumuller BUM618-12/18 is the most powerful unit in the family. Its main characteristics are:

  • Motor power: 1.5KW;
  • Mains voltage range: 3 phase 230 V AC (+6% -10%), 50/60 Hz;
  • Nominal output current: 12 A;
  • Maximum output current: 18 A;
  • Initialising time: max 20 s;
  • Power loss: 100 W (nominal use) or 40 W (stand by).

      Our laboratory offer free diagnosis for all types of electronic boards. We consider that unless we have identified the root cause of the malfunction we cannot estimate the appropriate repair cost. Usually, repairing costs do not exceed 50% of the price for a new motherboard or equipment.

      Components inventory

      The components are being replaced with spare parts belonging to our inventories, but there are cases when it is necessary to import several spare parts directly from the manufacturer/distributor. Our past experience has given us the possibility to build up good communication means with European, Asian and American manufacturers; therefore we also give you the benefit that, in accordance with our contract, we can cover any need of component required by the repair process.
